Went well.....that would represent a penchant for incredible understatement. I am writing this to you without use of glasses, on my ipad, and not quite one full day out of surgery. My depth perception is back, and my equilibrium is also back. In short, I am well on my way back to the vision I had when I flew a Phantom F4 fighter jet in the service of our country. In those days it was perfect.....that was 47 years ago. I put on my first pair of glasses 37 years ago, and have had to use corrective lenses since, in one form or another. Today I will be closing my glass case for the last time in my life. I will never again have the notation, must wear corrective lenses, on my driver's license; prothetic when you consider I have to renew that license this year on my birthday. I am going to fly my Lear Lonhorn 56 jet, as pilot in command because I now can pass the 1st Class Medical Certificate...not 2nd class, 1st. You could not possibly know what this means to me. Dr. Sadri's extraordinary skill as a surgeon, as an ardent student of his craft, his understanding and compassion as a medical professional, and that I believe him to be just a plain ole "damn good soul," combine to make him a giant in his profession.
Then there are the Connie Kinney's who are the "make it happen" people that are vitally crucial in any successful organization. I am so jealous that Dr. Sadri found her first. She can go to work for KeyNO Ranch Holdings any time. The entire squad at Atlantis Eyecare Anaheim show how a well managed, vibrant, and results driven team can make a difference. Jonathan answering the phone with a bright cheerful attitude, Dr. Collins with her pleasant demeanor, Michelle at Bella Terra doing that A Scan thing with red hair and a sunny smile, Cindy Decker and a behemoth effort to get this done sooner, Barbara in scheduling who sent information packets as thick as War and Peace, and to many others encountered along the way.
Bottom line, this team came together, fixed a really big oopsie, and changed a person's life. You people are game changers. You have no idea how important this outcome is to me. Perhaps when you all reach the so-called 'golden years,' you will be standing in the twilight of your life remembering lives you impacted and changed simply by doing your job well.
I waiting for this mild surgical discomfort I was supposed to feel yesterday, and partly today. I'll let ya know if it shows up. One day out, and the results are astounding. I know from experience it only gets better from here. It is a journey that I am glad to take.
With warm regards
Doctor Sadari was very informative, and above all honest about what needed to be done to correct my vision. When he said he would treat me like "family" I felt I found a Doctor who really cares.
In a word - wonderful. One could not ask for a friendlier more courteous group of people and Dr Sadri seems like a totally down to earth guy with great knowledge and experience to go along with his warm personality. The Anaheim staff seems efficient and effective at their respective positions.
